Meet the Team

Amy Stone, Ph.D.

Amy Stone has been consulting in the UX space for over 30 years, leveraging user-centered design methodologies to help companies create exceptional user experiences.  She has worked for corporate leaders, including NCR’s Human Interface Technology Center, US WEST Advanced Technologies, iXL, Sapient-Razorfish, User Insight and UserZoom.  She is passionate about helping teams make UX Research a central part of the product development life cycle.

 

In 2008, she started her own consulting firm, Stone User Experience and served clients including the CDC, Coca-Cola Company, Turner Broadcasting, Delta Airlines and Piedmont Hospitals.  She spent the last 5 years as a Director Research Partner at UserZoom (now User Testing) helping large enterprise UX Research teams like Charles Schwab, Fidelity, US Bank, Citibank, Bank of America, Travelers, USAA and Allstate mature and grow their UX research practices.

 

Amy earned a Bachelors in Symbolic Systems from Stanford University and a doctorate in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Ellen Carey

Ellen Carey is a usability evangelist and empathy researcher, who has spent her 20+ year career caring about and working to improve the digital experience for organizations through user research across employee, marketing and client experiences. She has facilitated and observed thousands of people interact with websites, applications and physical environments around the world. 

 

Most recently at UserTesting, she was a Research Partner and subject matter expert for customers from healthcare to gaming. While at Gartner, she led a team of researchers in a variety of UX research methods and the principles of Design Thinking and human-centered, iterative design practices. She is an expert at generative methods such as field studies and in-depth interviews and evaluative methods to test designs, prototypes, physical products, and live sites.  Ellen is currently supporting the Veterans Administration to improve the experience of Veterans and the healthcare providers who serve them by implementing best practices in user experience research and design.

Ellen received her Masters in Journalism from New York University.  

Edie Scott

Edie is a Strategic Experience Research Leader, Research Program Developer and Instructional Systems Designer, with  20 years of experience leading UX and research teams and projects for Fortune 500 companies.   She has expertise in identifying opportunities for business growth, formalizing research programs, and facilitating generative and evaluative research studies, in a moderated or unmoderated format.

 

Edie is currently supporting the  Veterans Administration to improve the experience of Veterans and the healthcare providers who serve them by implementing best practices in learning and user experience research and design.

Edie received her Masters in Educational / Instructional Media Design from the University of Georgia, Mary Frances Early College of Education.

Lorri Sands

Lorri is a results-driven Human Experience Researcher and Strategist with over 20 years of experience in leading comprehensive user experience research initiatives. Proven success in collaborating with cross-functional teams to conduct qualitative and quantitative research, translating insights into actionable recommendations that enhance user satisfaction and drive business growth.

 

Lorri has worked at large global digital agencies, small boutique agencies and remote with distributed teams using Lean UX and AGILE/SCRUM workflows.
She is a driven, motivated, and multi-faceted professional with solid and progressive experience in creating complex mobile and online experiences that help organizations and users achieve their goals.  Lorri is currently supporting the Veterans Administration to improve the experience of Veterans and the healthcare providers who serve them by implementing best practices in user experience research and design.

Lorri received her Masters of Science in Interactive Communication from Florida State University.
